C-Chem has strengthened a variety of environmental protection management measures based on the “Law Regarding Establishment of Pollution Prevention Organizations in Specified Factories” and other statutes. Further, the Company is actively engaged in recycling and reuse by recovering refining solvents; reusing water resources, waste oil, and pitch heat sources; and other measures within the Works. The Company is also involved in environmental improvement through technical fields by effectively utilizing the technical assets of the Group companies including industrial waste processing technology, analysis and evaluation technology, and non-polluting heavy metal processing technology.
The Kyushu Works uses an activated sludge method utilizing the action of aerobic microbes to purify waste water. C-Chem is working together with NIPPON STEEL & SUMIKIN CHEMICAL to achieve clean factories that can coexist with local communities.
Acquisition of ISO14001 Certification
ISO14001 certification was acquired by the Kashima Works in 2000, the Kyushu Office in 2006, and the Hirohata Works in 2010.
C-Chem is actively promoting an environmental management system based on international standards.
